A graduate of the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a twenty year career as a designer in the apparel industry, ilona has always been driven by the desire to create she draws inspiration from places that are untamed by civilization. Places that are wild, high and remote. Places where nature shapes the landscape in breathtaking ways. From the rocky shores of Lake Superior across the windswept slopes of the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming to the rugged coast of the Olympic Peninsula, she collects natures artifacts along the way. ilona also finds beauty in the lost fragments of society: a shard of beach glass, a bit of weathered iron. Combining these objects she distills the essence of her travels and of design into jewelry.
